Investor Class Immigration

Federal Requirements

To apply to the federal Immigrant Investor Program you must be able to demonstrate that you have preexisting business knowledge, a minimum net worth of $1,600,000, and the ability to invest $800,000. This money will be invested into the Canadian economy and returned to you after 5 years.

Ontario

Entrepreneurs that will be set up in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) are required to have a  minimum net worth of $1,500,000. If you plan to set up your business outside the GTA or are in the ICT/Digital Communications Sector you only need a minimum net worth of $800,000.

Corporations that wish to set up in Ontario are required to have been established for at least 3 years and be able to make a minimum investment of $5,000,000 to expand into Ontario or purchase an existing business in the province.

Quebec

The Quebec Immigrant Investor Program is open to certain qualified investors who undertake to live in Quebec and make a passive investment of  $​1,200,000 via an authorized financial institution in the province. 

The investor must have alone or with accompanying spouse, including de facto spouse, net assets of at least $​2,000,000 CAN obtained legally.

Investors must have experience in management in a legal farming, commercial or industrial business, or in a legal professional business.

British Columbia 

Investors applying to the province of British Columbia’s entrepreneur immigration program are required to have a personal net worth of at least $600,000. Investors are also required to make a minimum $200,000 personal investment into the business they are starting.
